Her Excellency Leena-Kaisa Mikkola, Ambassador of Finland to the United States visits Lepokoti
Finnish-American Village in Lake Worth, Florida, recently had the honor of welcoming Her Excellency Leena-Kaisa Mikkola, Ambassador of Finland to the United States, along with Hannakaisa Andersson, First Secretary for Culture and Communications at the Finnish Embassy in Washington, D.C. The group also enjoyed the annual Midnight Sun Festival, with the Ambassador giving opening remarks on Saturday of the event, as well as visits with Honorary Consul Peter Makila, Suomi Talo / Finland House, and Palm Beach Bakery, all stalwart pillars of the strong Finnish community found in the Lantana/Lake Worth area. The visit underscored the enduring cultural and diplomatic ties between Finland and the Finnish-American community in South Florida.
Executive Director Daniel Benson and Assisted Living Manager Katja Pukkila warmly received the distinguished guests and gave a tour of Lepokoti and Annan Maja Heritage Hall. The visit highlighted Finnish-American Village's commitment to providing exceptional care while preserving Finnish heritage and values.
