LOVING
The staff at Finnish American Village is top notch. They truly care about the residents. The nursing staff is always on top of items. I couldn't have found a more loving assisted living facility. Thank you, A Place For Mom, for the recommendation.

CARING
The skilled care section is outstanding; also, they are very pleasant speaking to the patients and on the assisted living side the staff can't be beat. They are very caring and take great care of the patients. I want to come here when I can’t live on my own anymore!

COMPASSIONATE
If you have a loved one, who is in need of assisted living, you will not do better than Finnish-American. These are the most caring and compassionate people. The facility is old, but immaculate. This is a perfect example of not judging a book by its cover.

INVITING
I have been to Finnish-American Village numerous times to visit a friend, and it is always very warm and inviting as well as clean. The staff is very pleasant and talkative when you enter. The residents are nice. They play bingo and have a variety of arts and crafts. The dining area is very spacious and clean.
-
FRIENDLY
The staff was friendly. Always said hi when I passed them. They stopped in my mom's room just to say hi. They have lots of activities and entertainers who come in to play for them. This is the best way I can sum up the staff and care at Finnish-American Village.

ATTENTIVE
Moving my mom to FAV is the best decision we could have made. The employees are attentive and caring and know all the residents by name. They also know me and often stop to update me on my mom's status. I finally have peace of mind that she is safe and well taken care of at Finnish-American Village.
It is one big family at the Finnish-American Village.
You are treated very well, and everyone is nice and caring.
It is clean and the food is great!
________
You will not find a better place than Finnish-American Village.
They are the best nursing home around.
Everyone there took such wonderful care of my mother
& made my mother happy while she was there for over 4 years.
Everyone there is very nice and include her…
My mom has been living in the assisted living section of the Finnish-American Village since August 2015. We couldn't be more pleased. The facility at first glance looks like it is a little in need of refurbishment, but it is spotlessly clean and run by the kindest people. Since it is run as a Non-Profit, they don't spend money on window dressing. You can't judge a facility on looks alone. My Dad, before his death was in a fancy place that treated the patients horribly. The food is wonderful. I eat with her whenever I can, and the meals at $5 for visitors are very good. My mom has severe dietary restrictions, and from day one they have been so careful, never giving her the foods she can't eat. We are not Finnish, so I was concerned she would be "an outsider"...not the case at all. About half of the residents are not Finns, and everyone there is very nice and include her. The activities directors are delightful, as are the nurses and administrator, who couldn't be more compassionate and professional. I only wish I had been aware of this facility when my dad was in need of one. Unlike many facilities who have workers who don't seem happy in their work, the ladies who are aides and nurses seem to love what they do.
My mother was a resident years ago and I thank you and all your staff for the kindness and compassion you gave her. I am a geriatric nurse practitioner and have been to many nursing facilities. You are the best!
Finnish American Village has been amazing for my elderly mother. Spacious rooms with four closets and nice big windows. Amazing staff that offers fun days out for the residents, round the clock medical care, and great meals. The building looks a little dated but don’t be fooled, they keep it maintained very well.
We have been extremely pleased. The warmth and devotion of all staff to the residents, the cleanliness, the friendliness; the care and activities are excellent! Thank you!
The home care team and service provided are outstanding. This is a wonderful resource for the community.
Everyone who works here cares
so very much for each resident.
It is a wonderful place, I highly recommend it to everyone.
Forever grateful of the highest quality care my parent was provided. The Finnish-American Village is a shining star among other facilities who provide care. My mother lived in the nursing home for over 3 years and absolutely loved her environment. The staff is extremely caring and go beyond to assist. My mother was truly cared for and loved by staff members.
My mother has been at Finnish American Village for almost a year. I find the staff caring and compassionate. She is happy there and is more social than she was before. I am grateful for everyone who works there. They do a fantastic job.
The staff at this community was very kind and friendly. Everyone was very nice and cheerful. You could tell they really care about their residents. It felt like a little family community.
The staff has been helpful and there’s follow-through on questions/issues. Staff seems like many of them have been there for a long time and are knowledgeable and friendly. Mom’s room is clean, and the food is great.
The facility staff are wonderful. They provide wonderful care and so many activities for the residents. We are so happy she is getting the comfort and healthcare, both physically and mentally, that she deserves.
I like the level of attentiveness, there are always a lot of people keeping their eye out for the residents. The food there is wonderful, really good. He liked the feel of the place and picked this out of all the ones we looked at. I am happy with them.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Finnish-American Village. My mother has been there for a year now, and I could not have picked a more loving, caring, professional, clean place for her to live. From the sales and marketing director; to the head nurse and everyone in between, the staff truly cares about each and every patient.
The rooms are nice and spacious, with lots of storage (my mom has four closets). They have a band play for the residents from time to time. Trips to the grocery stores and shopping centers. Great nurses, and great atmosphere.
I would recommend Finnish American Village to anyone who needs to have Assisted Living Care. The nurses are very caring, the food is great, and the activities are plenty.
Finnish-American Village is very clean, and the food is delicious. There is a beautiful outdoor area for the residents to enjoy, as well as several welcoming common areas. I feel truly blessed that we found Finnish-American Village for my mother.
For 7 years my mom has lived at FARH – almost evenly between the ALF and SNF and through all that time I have felt reassurance and gratitude for the wonderfully warm, compassionate and excellent care she received there. You truly treated her like was one of your own family members. We are grateful to everyone – the cleaning staff, Charlotte and her kitchen staff, Kenny and his maintenance staff, the laundry staff, the business office and front desk staff, the therapy staff, Nina and all involved with activities and Bobby, the nurse aides, nurses, nurse directors, Maija
and the overall director as well. Such a caring facility that truly honors and loves its elders.
My Mom was a resident at Finnish American Village for 3 years until her passing. She was admitted during the pandemic as a long-term care resident, however the awesome rehab staff worked with her, and she was able to successfully move into a lovely room as an ALF resident. Everyone was so caring, kind, patient, and she loved the food, activities and parties. The activities director went out of her way to help accommodate Mom so she could participate in different activities. When Mom started to decline and had to be hospitalized, the DON personally moved rooms around very late at night to make sure she had a bed for rehab. They always treated her like family, and as she always
said, "There are no crabbies here! Everyone is so nice!" I can't thank the staff at FAV enough for treating my mom like she was their own
while she lived there.
Finnish American Village does an extremely good job. They have a lot of activities - arts and crafts, bingo, lots of varied and fun things.
They go out every week to the grocery store as well as a fun outing, to the mall or to the zoo for instance. The residents have a say and get to vote on what they want to do. There's a cleaning service that cleans the apartment, which is included in the rent. It's an older place, but it's really nice.
We had to make a quick decision for a rehab facility after my mom was discharged from the hospital. Finnish American isn't a fancy village,
but it's very clean, and the staff are very caring. My brother and I were very happy with this facility. A perfect example of don't judge a book
by its cover. The staff were very responsive to our needs and concerns.
We chose Finnish American Village because of the friendly, family environment and it is a smaller facility, so it is not so overwhelming.
The room sizes are fine for what she needs. The value for the money here is great. The people are very friendly and accommodating
and when you walk in everyone you see is smiling. I would recommend to others looking, it is a home away from home.
My mom absolutely loves it at Finnish American Village, and we have been happy with our experience. We chose this facility because she had visited here before. She also had a good idea of what the staff would be like. It is in a convenient location for our family.
I would recommend them to others looking.
My mom has been at Finnish American Village for about a year and half now. It's been the BEST place possible for her.
The staff truly does have a heart and always seems to do that something "little extra" to keep her being well taken care of and engaged.
I couldn't think of a better place for her to be at! Clean, friendly, great meals, and feeling cared for.
My mom was at Finnish American Village (FAV) for 5 months and she loved it there. The best way I can describe FAV is people who work there
have "heart." I saw the care they took with residents. I paid attention when my mom first moved in because I wanted to be sure she was treated well. My mom was happier at FAV than she was in her apartment before moving there. At FAV, aides and nurses stopped in her room
when they were walking by just to say hi. Whenever I needed to call someone there, I was able to reach them. Thank you for making my mom
feel loved and at home.
She was so well taken care of. The attendants and nurses would come to her room to check on her, to remind her of the meals,
and to just bring happy greetings. She loved the room, the meals (which were always great), and the special treats in the afternoons.
It was a wonderful home away from home for her. The employees here are excellent and very caring. We are so thankful for this
assisted living facility and definitely recommend to anyone seeking a place with helpful and kind people.
They take care of her like she was their own mother. She gets what she needs. The staff, from the kitchen staff
to the cleaning staff to the nurses to the CNAs, everybody takes great care of her. She feels like she's at home.
She gets better care here than any place that she's ever been. I love these people, they take great care of my mom.
The nursing staff is very hands-on and make sure everything is with the way it should be. She goes to the dining room to eat three
times a day, she goes to bingo, she goes to crafts, and she goes out on excursions when they have them.
You won't find a better place than Finnish-American village anywhere! 5 out 5 stars here.
