Finnish-American Village Represented South Florida at FinnFest in Duluth
Earlier this month, the Finnish-American Village was proudly represented at FinnFest USA 2025, held at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. This year’s annual festival—celebrating Finnish and Nordic culture—spanned four vibrant days of music, workshops, panel discussions, and the beloved Tori Nordic marketplace.
We were honored to send a delegation of dedicated leaders who not only observed but actively engaged in this immersive cultural event through a South Florida lounge and a series of talks about the impact Finnish-Americans have had in the South Florida community:
Daniel Benson, Executive Director
Katja Pukkila, Assisted Living Manager
Lila Lane, President, Finnish-American Village Board
Tiina Rogers, HR Manager and President of the Midnight Sun Festival
Their presence reflected a deep commitment to both our local Finnish-American community and the broader national dialogue around Finnish heritage. They participated in enriching conversations around art, wellness, architecture, and education—hallmarks of FinnFest’s programming. Seeing our leadership team at FinnFest demonstrates our active role in shaping and sustaining Finnish-American heritage.
For over 40 years, FinnFest USA has been a roaming festival of Finnish-American culture—featuring lectures, concerts, workshops, the Tori Nordic Fair, and more. In 2023, Duluth became the first city on a five-year residency, celebrating Finland’s rich heritage with broad community involvement.
